I purchased a pair of Nike Air Max sneakers here last night. When I tried them on they seemed fine. After wearing them for the first few hours I started to notice a very uncomfortable bump on the inside of the sneakers. For what ever reason the left sneaker is much worse than the right. I decided that the pain on the right foot (pinky knuckle) is tolerable and will probably lessen as the shoes wear in. The left foot on the other hand is quite bad. It actually has left a significant mark after only a few hours. I returned to the store today and spoke with Kevin who says he is the assistant manager. I explained what was going on and asked if it is possible to swap out just the left shoe and if not then could I swap out both. I wore the sneakers so Kevin explained that Champs has a policy against returning sneakers that have been worn. These sneakers are brand new with no marks or scuffs and they are causing me pain. I would think Champs would want to take care of their customers but as far as Kevin's interpretation and explanation of the store policies they do not care and Kevin seemed more than eager to let me know this. While it's not a huge loss for me, it is unsettling to have a problem with one of their products and then have to be told that Champs got over on me via a staff member who seemed excited by the opportunity to rub in. If even one person avoids Champs because of my experience then at least it wasn't a complete loss.
Horrible customer service!! They just stand there chatting away when you are trying to get some help, no need to shop somewhere I'm not being acknowledged there for you lost a customer for this store! Holyoke Mall Champs is hands down the best customer service exceeded my expectations!!
