One of my cars was in Sears Auto Services and because they needed extra time to fix the issue, they offered me a Rental from Avis. Mr. Louis LaFontaine, Agency operator of AVIS, treated us in a manner that will never be forgotten. The experience began when he started yelling at my son and I while we tried to make a rental request. He did not want to listen to my son (a Marine Veteran) and ignored our requests, assuming he knew what we were asking and began bombarding us with answers to questions that we did not ask. My son stopped talking with Mr. LaFontaine and felt it was better to remove himself from the situation. I tried to ask for respect, telling him that my son is a Marine veteran and once again he abruptly interrupted me answering that Avis did not have Military discounts… I did not even finish my sentence. I was not looking for a discount as Sears would be taking care of any charges, I was just hoping this information would help this employee see us as who we are – American Citizens. This was an absolute horrible experience. Mr. LaFontaine showed a Racist attitude with Hispanic people and even worse to a former Marine in the midst of Veterans week . He rushed me to sign the papers before I could even look if the rental car is full of gas. We are American Citizens and we are in the USA more than 25 years and never in that time have I been treated in such a rude manner. Avis should be embarrassed by Mr. LaFontaine. Not only does Mr. LaFontaine come across in such a shallow manner, but his allegiance to AVIS is also a detriment to this company. I will not rent a car from this desk/company again.

I am an Avis preferred member, this place has the rudest staff that I ever dealt with at this company. They have absolutely no idea what they're doing or how to reason with customers. They denied my sister a car because she was using a friends and family AWD code that I provided her through my membership. She had already booked online and was simply going to pick up the car and the guy wouldn't let her have it. I tried calling the office but he didn't pick up, I told my sister to put him on the phone and he goes... "I don't know who you are and I am not renting a car to these people." He could have verified all of my information and made sure everything was legit if he was so worried about fraud. This same guy pissed off 3 other customers while my sister was there.... just a terrible, inconsiderate, and disrespectful human being. Avis should be ashamed!

The agency operator (Mr. Louis LaFontaine) refused to rent a car because he only accepts US driver license (this is not a joke, this guy ridiculously think this is a policy of AVIS and Budget). This is definitely the worse rental car counter I ve ever been. The agency operator is definitely the rudest person I ve ever met in my whole life, and pretty much racist in any definition. A colleague of mine in the university of Connecticut had the same problem with this guy. This guy is a disgrace to the society. Try to avoid this rental office, he works for both Budget and AVIS (I later on rented a car from other company in that area without any problem). The rating is zero.

Absolutely terrible and rude front counter man (I wish I got his name). He has no idea what the policies are. Customer service over the phone were telling me one thing and he was telling me something absolutely different. He refused to rent to me even though I had everything paid and ready to go for a rental I was using to get to the airport!! He would not verify a discount code and refused to accept any sort of alternate solution. I almost missed my flight and my family and I were put through so much stress because of this man. I will probably never use this location again and maybe even Avis all together. So unfortunate.

ZERO RATING FOR AVIS CUSTOMER SERVICE AT MANCHESTER LOCATION. DO NOT EVEN BOTHER TO TRY.
