Don’t believe their promotions for carpets. They tell you choose any carpet you want and they will assess you free of charge and installation is on them. After going through the pain of assessment and picking out the carpets you want they drew up two contracts for me and thus the breakdown of the contracts makes the promotion not apply to me! They say I picked two different carpets so it two different jobs even though that is not mentioned on their promotions but that is how they get you I guess. Through FALSE ADVERTISING! This is the Manchester store in Connecticut.
What: My boyfriend and I are currently trying to build an entertainment center ourselves and have been to this location A LOT and have spent thousands of dollars on tools and materials. We went there around 8:50pm to find pin nails but before we went in we made sure to check the closing time online. The website showed the store closed at 10pm. We went inside to find the nails but had a quick question and decided to ask an older man Rick who worked there. Before we could get our sentence out he rudely and loudly said "we are closed". We thought he was kidding because we had checked the time online so we smiled and continued to ask. Before we could say another word he again even louder and more rudely stated "we are closed". We apologized and tried to explain that the website said 10pm, when we were cut off for a third time with the same statement "we are closed!"

What horrible customer service. This is the second time that I’ve come in a week and needed help in two different departments and NOBODY was there to help. After paging for help in the paneling department numerous times and even calling the store, we waited half an hour, two people who said they couldn’t help me came over, said they’d get somebody to help and nothing. We’re still waiting with promises that someone is coming. Last time we needed help in plumbing and nobody ever came. They have a good selection, but if you need any type of help, this is NOT the place to go.
We left Lowe's feeling very upset and confused as to why the worker, Rick, was so rude to us. Unfortunately, good customer service, mutual respect and decency are absent in this worker and Lowe's should re-train their staff on how to treat other people especially loyal customers.
Absolutely Absurd -- If you need anything major - buy somewhere else. They get 2 stars because if you need anything off the shelf, they have good stock - otherwise the give you totally false estimated dates for things like ovens, installations. On top of it, they give you a constant run-around. Half of the employees do not even know what they are talking about or what they are advising you to do. How can you order an oven on Thanksgiving, give someone an estimated date of 12/12 (oven said "in stock" online when purchased) and then call to cancel another installation-- because the oven is not arriving until 3 days before Christmas! Really? Get your act together. Last time I purchase from Lowe's.
We decided to talk to another worker at the customer service desk and she stated that the times were changed to winter hours a few days ago but the website was slow in reflecting the change.
Really impressed with lowes price match, free shipping and prompt delivery for online shopping. In store shopping is great also. The sales staff are friendly helpful. Never feel rushed either. Quite a bit Less stressful then shopping at Home Depot.
