Bland... I had the goat cheese and veggie omelette with fruit salad with wheat toast. The melon in the fruit salad had more flavor than the omelette. Very disappointing. I also tried the Macaroni and cheese that my son had and that was as tasty as the omelette. The French onion soup bucked the trend. That was salty as hell. The service was prompt and courteous though, so if you enjoy bland food this is the place for you.
Both not huge deals just things that could be changed.
This is one of our favorite restaurants to visit. The food is local and delicious, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is great. And the menu is huge! Prepare to spend a few minutes looking through to find what you want, the menu is like an encyclopedia. They also have gluten free dishes available. There is usually a wait when we go, so we'll put in our name and walk around Barnes and Noble until our table is ready. The only downfall we have experienced is when I planned a birthday party at Maggie's last year. After talking with the hostess about a week beforehand to make sure the party size was acceptable, I called ahead twice as recommended. When we arrived, we were told "we don't really do reservations," even though the website and hostess had said otherwise. An hour later, a table was ready and the food and service was wonderful. We have been to Maggie's a couple of times since and the portions are so large, we have not been able to try the dessert options yet, but we hope to at some point.
Staff was very nice and helpful, there was an enormous selection of food to choose from and what I had was delicious.
I love this place! They also have a gluten free designated fryer and cater to food restrictions due to medical necessity. I had a safe, yummy meal here without any cross contamination worry. For someone like me with Celiac Disease it is very hard to eat out, but I have no worries eating here.
Only negatives were that the maître d’ was also a waiter so guests were waiting near the front door to be seated. An outside valet company would greet guests as they walked in and the two young men would hold both of the doors open at the same time allowing cold air to rush into the restaurant.
They sat us in a cold, cramped, and unappealing side room that looks like it should only be used for when the restaurant is really really busy. Which it was not. My beverage was forgotten and very late and the waitress blamed it on the bar, but it was probably because of our seats, this room has a separate door so you can’t even hear or see the rest of the restaurant, nowhere near the ambiance of the rest of it, I feel a discount would be appropriate if you HAVE to eat in that room. I ordered the Penne and Meatballs, it was awful. I didn’t eat the meatballs. The whole meal tasted like a blan do it yourself housewife first time making a new meal with added spices to make it taste “fancy”. It wasn’t special and I had an awful meal. 40 dollars later... I will never go back again.
